ASSESSING THE WORK

       

AFTER ALL OF THEIR IMAGES HAVE been imported into the iMovie program, Jade and her classmates watch in silence as their animation comes alive on the screen. Students participate in a whole group critique of the movie and identify what still needs work. “We need sound.” The final touch involves the audio soundtrack that the students create in sync with the moving images.
Jade stands ready to speak her lines as the images play on the screen. Sierra and her classmates create the footsteps sound effect for the escape scene.

SHARING THE WORK WITH THE COMMUNITY

THE CHILDREN’S LEARNING IS SHARED at a premiere for friends and family. Parents and guardians are invited to create their own puppet and design a DVD cover for the movie. Students are proud of their fi nished work and share their process with their broader learning community.
