Machine
step 1
Demonstrate how to make one repeated sound and a motion with the precision of a machine. Discuss how a large machine works
with each part to achieve a purpose.
step 2
Invite a small group of students to “make a machine” together. One student at a time creates a repeatable sound and a motion that connects to what the others are doing. For example, one picks up a pretend box and another one moves that pretend box.
step 3
Work on having the machine speed up and slow down together. As a variation, create a theme and have the machine embody that theme (e.g. popcorn, springtime, anxiety, etc.)
